Llakefest On The Llano
WELCOME TO Llakfest On the Llano
  History:

In the spring of 2005, a man by the name of J.S. Brady emerged from his ranch house wearing what appeared to be West Texas’ version of the Mexican sombrero. It was, quite frankly, the largest cowboy hat one man had ever donned. Fortunately this tale does not focus on this man’s hat, but rather on what was brewing beneath it. His enormous sky piece was protecting what has become perhaps the finest vision in Texas history.

It began as an innocent notion; invite a few family members and some of their esteemed buddies out to the South Llano River for a day of kayaking. Perhaps there would be a few oat sodas consumed to ward off dehydration, and perhaps some BBQ to stave off hunger. No big deal, just another summer day in God’s country.

J.S. Brady was no spring chicken and soon realized that an unoffending trip down the Llano would be impossible. After all, Jaybird’s kinfolk were the Tortorice brothers. All four brothers were well conditioned in the art of overpartying and of xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx. What began as in innocent notion was quickly blossoming into a not-so-innocent vision. It was a vision devoid of moderation. It was a vision that required participants of steel. It was a vision that reached into the depths of the Party God’s soul and pulled out perfection. Beer. Spinach and Cigs. The vision was clear. The vision was Llakfest.

And so the legend was born. A group of very brave men and a very brave woman set out to conquer the South Llano River with nothing more than a ‘yak and some uppers. Some made it safely to the end, while others were nothing more than a mere casualty of Llakfest's brutal nature (see above picture).

The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision- Hellen Keller

*Llakfest would not be possible without the hospitality of Scott and Missy. Scott and Missy are also pioneers of Llakfest as they have been participating in events similar to that Llakfest for quite some time.
